The Long Awaited House Choice Post

Ok ladies (and gentlemen)......I finally found the cable so I could download the house pictures. So, without any further delay, here is our house choice:
(If you chose house #5 earlier you were right!)

Just waiting for some rockin' chairs.

Dining Room - I need to do some work in here.

Kitchen

Family Room

Master bedroom.

I'm so excited to be getting a screened porch and.....grass!

Well, there you have pictures of downstairs. There are more bedrooms upstairs (which for now are boring). The movers will be here next week & if everything goes as planned then we will be moving in the day before school starts.

I'll keep you posted as we get settled (and make changes). Thanks for all of your well-wishes, they have really lifted my spirits through this whole process.

Panthers Training Camp

We did more than just look at houses and sign papers while we were gone. We were lucky enough to get to go to the Carolina Panthers Training Camp at Wofford College one day last week. We all had a great time (ok, except Gracie). My camera & I had a wonderful time so I thought I'd share a few of my shots with you. Enjoy......

There's Jake Delhomme - QB.

I just love this shot.

Not sure if you've heard about the fight that Steve Smith had where he broke his teammates nose - I caught a little of it. He's been suspended for a couple of games & fined.

Not only did we come away with a great day of watching professional football players doing their thing, but Bray actually was able to get three more autographs to add to his football.

Thanks, Panthers for being nice to the kids.

Ok - that's all I'll bore you with for today, although there are lots more to share.

Whew! We're Back!

We have finally made it back home (for the 2nd time) since heading down to SC to find us a house and, boy have I missed everyone. It will take me forever to catch up.

So much has happened in the last week that I don't know where to begin but I think I will start with the BIG news.......we have a house!!! YAY! YIPPEE!!

We are under contract with a house (which I will show you later). It is a wonderful four bedroom + bonus, 2 1/2 bath home on a large lot in a family friendly neighborhood and I can't wait to get down there.

We did get the kids signed up for school and football and can you believe that B has already had one football practice?? I know. We're just glad we happened to be down there and could make it. I'll have to take him back next week more practices and get back home because the movers are coming to pack & load our house on the 14th & 15th. I know!

It took all summer to make happen but it looks like it pays to be pushy (and have God on your side). I said I wanted the kids to start school on time and by golly it seems like He's going to make that happen.

That's about all of the big news (for now). I'll do a house post some other time - I need to download all of the pictures first.

Hope everyone has been well & I'll stop by to visit as I can.

Hospitals, Snakes & Traveling....A Busy Week

I'll go ahead and apologize now for having such a rambling, non-cohesive post but it's the only way I can update everyone on what's going on with us this week.

If you're still interested, read on.

Hospitals:
I will be spending Tuesday & Wednesday mornings at the hospital with my step-dad who is having some procedures done. Thankfully, Daddy is home this week on vacation so the kiddos don't have to accompany me. The procedures done today went well, there is a pacemaker change to be done tomorrow. Hopefully that will go just as well.

Snakes:
While I was away today, the kids & Daddy had some excitement. Daddy was sitting in one of our chairs on the front porch and Gracie went to sit in the other one but when she moved the pillow -something was already there....you guessed it - A SNAKE. She didn't know what it was right away & thought it was one of Chase's leashes. (I'm glad she didn't get the chance to pick it up.)
Daddy managed to get it into the yard where he proceeded to kill it.
(If you're one of those bleeding green, tender hearted environmentalists who is going to get all ticked off - SAVE IT. We don't care. It's a snake. Around our children. End of story!)

Traveling:
Once again, we will be leaving to head down south and do a little house hunting. We FINALLY got the totals that we needed from the relocation company and should be able to put an offer in on a house. Yay!
I'll let you know how that all plays out when we return on Saturday.

Until then, I hope everyone is doing well & staying cool in this heat.
I look forward to catching up on all the blogs when we get back.

Yay! I'm a Winner!

I finally won something on a blog contest.....I'm so excited!
Wendy of Freeul had a "Guess the Amount of Rain Contest" and I got the closest so I get a wonderful new umbrella.

This is sooo where I want to be right now.

I'm picturing "My Happy Place" and releasing all stress.

Confession Time

I have a confession to make.

I have an addiction. (Gasp!)

It is time to confess......that I... am... addicted to.........

SCHOOL SUPPLIES! (Double Gasp!)

Whew. That feels so much better.

I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer.

Temptation is everywhere and I need a support system.

I go to Walmart and there they are.......notebooks for 5 cents! Pencils for...I don't even know how much.

I crave them so much I don't even pay attention to the prices - I just throw them in the cart.

Filler paper, colorful divider folders (with pockets), brand new crayons....oh, the smell.

This is the toughest time of the year for addicts like me and I'm thinking of starting a program.
School Supplies Annonymous

Is there anyone out there who needs to join or am I a total freak?
Please...anybody.....I need help to be stopped.

Inspection Time

On Thursday we have a very important visitor stopping by.

Yep, it's the "Home Inspector".

I must spend the next two days cleaning, mopping, & making our house look brand new again so he won't have many things to write down on his list.

I also have to try to rearrange some things in the garage so he can get to the pull down stairs for the attic. (That might be a trick.)

Keep your fingers crossed that everything checks out ok. Our house is only three years old so if there is anything major - I might get a tad upset.

Sorry there's nothing more interesting to blog about, but around here....it's all about THE MOVE!

We might have a winner.....

We're back from our travels down south and it was a very productive trip.

We've looked at a ton of houses and I refuse to add one more to the mix. If we haven't seen it by now, more than likely we're not going to see it.

We have picked out one to put an offer on, but I'm not telling which one (yet).

I will show you all of the ones that we've toured (that I cared enough to take a picture of) so you can see our dilemma.

I think we're going to make an offer next week, so.....I'll keep you posted.

If that doesn't work, we'll go to Plan B.

Whatever is meant to be will be.

Enjoy the pics:

On the road again.

We're headed to SC for more house hunting.

Hope everyone enjoys the remainder of their week. I look forward to reading all about it when we return on Saturday.

(By the way - I had to breakdown and request a new relocation counselor. Ours stunk.
I haven't gotten a reply to my e-mail asking for her supervisor's name - shocker!)
