Winter's Last Blast (I hope)

We had managed to escape Winter's grasp all year.....until now.

I had my sights set on spring flowers and warm sunny days.

Well, last night the big winter storm that everyone's been talking about finally blew through and this is what we have this morning.

The kids and the dog are loving it. Me? Not so much.

Wet clothes lying everywhere. Wet floors to match. Neighborhood kids out of school (not good when you homeschool).

I finally surrendered and the playing has been going full force.

Here are a few pictures of our winter beauty.

(Don't ask about the shorts & socks - he was waiting for his favorite pants to dry.)

Ah, it is pretty.......now melt already and bring on the 70's, 80's and yes even those humid 90's.

Morning Duchess,

WOW you got a lot of snow!!! I bet the kids are enjoying it! A homeschool snow day is just perfect. That cracks me up with the shorts. Whenever we get snow Lexi soaks whatever she is wearing then changes and ends up with tons of wet clothes we have to dry, so she can go back out and play again! We have only had that one round of ice here and no snow....works for me. Oh, and a few days ago it hit a record high of 91 degrees....SOOOO NICE!! Bring on Spring!!!!!

I am so glad that we got skipped this time, we have had enough this year!!!

WE don't do snow days from homeschool either, we get our work done first. Then we take "sun days" later in the year ;) I think we're going to be finished for hte year around the second week of April and those poor kids in a regular school system will still be sitting there come June LOL!!

I know how you feel! We just got power back a few minutes ago, so instead of throwing clothes in the dryer, my kids have been getting out CLEAN clothes! The mountain was starting to overtake the bath tub! It's supposed to be 70 here by Saturday - bring it on!

I'm so glad it skipped us! Our temps are about 15 degrees below normal right now, very cold, about the same as yours today. No snow and lots of sunshine though. Temps due to reach the 60s like tomorrow and the rest of the week. Spring can't get here fast enough.

Cute pictures..I am ready for Spring.

You asked me about the red paint in my laundry room..3 coats plus primer...red is not the easiest color to paint on the walls but I love it after it's done.
Have a great Wed.

Hi Duchess, I am so NOT with you on the humid 90's, but bring on the 70/80's which we are expecting this weekend! LOLOL! I can't get over our Carolina's weather this year. This was our 3rd snow on the coast. Of course Monday we just got a few flurries and was gone by lunchtime. Your pictures are great and looks like the kids had a great time in it! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
