I have big plans.

I love this time of year.

The air gets cooler and the coffee or hot chocolate is better.

Pumpkin bread, pecan pies & caramel apples.

Hay rides, bonfires, & football games.

These are all a few of my favorite things.

One more of my favorite things began when our son was little. Every fall, we would head out to our favorite Pumpkin Farm. We'd pull the kids around in a little red wagon until I'd fill it so full with mums & pumpkins that they'd no longer fit.

Well, my little family tradition has gotten thrown to the back burner since the kids have gotten involved in sports. They usually have some sort of game to do on the weekends & other things have gotten in the way.

Guess what? I think we may have a free weekend coming up.

Have you figured out my big plan yet?

That's right. I'm going to try my hardest to drag encourage my family to go to a pumpkin farm.
I want to pick our own pumpkins and ride on the hay rides out to the corn mazes.
I want pictures of the kids with all of the fall scenery & backdrops.
My big plan should happen on Saturday (maybe Sunday) so I'll show you the wonderful, Norman Rockwell style pictures next week.
Ah.....I remember when.

These were in 2003.

Just look at those cutie pies - I can't wait to compare these to this year's pictures.

Stay tuned.

We go EVERY year to a pumpkin farm. We have one right around the corner that we have gone to for the last two or three years and I would like to find a new one this year....oh, we will still probably visit that one too but I think we shall go on another adventure of hunting a different one down!

I can't wait to see your pictures of your pumpkin patch. Actually the header in my blog right now was from one we went to in 2003...it was really neat and we might try that one again if they still have it open.

A friend of mine and her family run a corn maze at their farm from mid-October on into November. It's a nice outing but after all these years we have yet to locate all the checkpoints in the maze. We get tickled and lose focus but it's tons of fun.

I have always wanted to do this! I just don't know about anything like that around here. I'm sure there is something but I haven't heard about it.

Have fun!! Can't wait to see the pics!

I drag my family out to the patch every year too! It's my favorite time of the year. Last year we didn't find a pumpkin patch, so we settled for an Apple festival. There were plenty of pumpkins and mums, so I got my fix! Have fun this wknd!!!

this truly is a great time of year...unfortunately i just moved so i won't get that true "fall" feeling being in the middle of the southwest...cooling down means you might not sweat to death as you wait for your AC to kick in while driving! haha great photos!

Yes, the cooler weather is nice. The rain was welcomed today buy we didn't get much.
What pumpkin farm do you go to?

Sounds absolutely wonderful. I hope to do the same thing with my daughter (who is on the opposite end of the spectrum...perhaps a little too young at two to "get" it, but we are taking her to the pumpkin farm anyway!). Have a great weekend!
