(Look at the size of that peach.)
After browsing a few of my magazines the other day, I decided that I needed to make a peach cobbler with my new findings.
Words just will not do justice to describe how yummy this dessert was. Throw a little vanilla ice cream on top (since it's not sweet enough) and enjoy.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk
1 28 oz. canned peaches*
cinnamon
vanilla ice cream
*use fresh peaches if available. If fresh:
2 cups peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water
Boil & simmer 10 minutes. Stir often making sure sugar is disolved. Substitute for canned peaches.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Put butter in 9" by 2" baking dish & place in oven to melt.
Stir sugar & flour together, mix well.
Slowly add milk & continue stirring to prevent batter from lumping.
Being careful not to burn yourself, remove hot dish from oven.
Pour batter directly over butter. Do Not Stir.
Spoon fruit on top then gently pour syrup on top. Do Not Stir.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Bake 30-45 minutes or until golden.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Enjoy!

YAY Produce stands! I'm obsessed. I just bought several peaches myself. Unfortunately, I didn't have the patience for a cobler and just bit right in!
Looks delicious! Can't go wrong with a Paula Deen recipe! ...My hero! LOL! ~Rhonda :)
I'll have to try your recipe. I made a peach cobbler about 2 weeks ago & family said it was edible..yikes.
Yummy! I bought a box of peaches a couple of weeks ago and made peach cobbler twice. Both times it was gone in seconds. I'm craving it again. :-)
That is one of my favorite stands! We go there a lot during the summer!
Have you been to Dillards yet?

Thanks for the comment on my blog. It is still a work in progress but it is a start. I can't figure out how to get my header to stretch across the entire page (I am not very computer literate). Oh well, that peach cobbler looks delicious! I am going to have to copy down the recipe.
